Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 21, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Wordstake ("Wordstake," "we," "us") collects when you use the game, why we collect it, and what choices you have. Wordstake is an independent project. If you have questions, contact chunky.love@hotmail.com.

What we collect

You can play Wordstake without an account. If you do, we do not collect personal information, and your stats only last for that browser session.

If you create an account, we collect:

We do not collect payment information (Wordstake is free), and we do not run advertising trackers or analytics scripts on this site.

How we use it

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data. We use a small number of infrastructure providers to run the site, and your data passes through them as part of normal operation:

We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the security or integrity of the service.

Cookies and local storage

Wordstake uses your browser's local storage (not tracking cookies) to keep you signed in between visits, via our authentication provider's standard session-handling. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Data retention

We keep your account and game history while your account exists. This keeps your streak and stats safe. To delete your account and data, email chunky.love@hotmail.com. We currently handle deletion requests by email.

Children's privacy

Wordstake is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To use any of these rights, email chunky.love@hotmail.com.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Wordstake after a change means you accept the updated policy.

This policy uses plain language. It is not legal advice. Consider having a lawyer review it if the game grows or begins serving many users in places with special privacy laws.
