Terms of Service

Last updated: August 21, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") cover your use of Wordstake, an independent daily word game. In these Terms, "we" and "us" mean Wordstake. By creating an account or playing, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

The game

Wordstake is a free daily word game. Everyone gets the same word each day. We score guesses by the total number of matching letters, not by showing each match. You may also use a limited number of hints. Each hint shows one letter and its spot, and it is saved with your game result and stats.

Accounts

Acceptable use

When using Wordstake, you agree not to:

No warranty

Wordstake is provided "as is" and free of charge. We do not promise that it will always work, have no errors, or always be available. We may change, pause, or stop any part of the game at any time. This includes hints, leaderboards, and the daily word system.

Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, Wordstake is not responsible for indirect or unexpected losses caused by using the game or being unable to use it. This includes lost streaks, stats, or account data.

Your content

The username and gameplay data you generate are yours, but by playing you allow us to store and display them as part of operating the game (e.g., on the leaderboard). See the Privacy Policy for details on how your data is handled.

Termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms. This includes cheating or abusing other players. You can ask us to delete your account at any time. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Wordstake after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
